These are the cross-platform lifts at Earl's Court Underground station (District and Circle line). A good subject for a &lt;a href="http://www.sketchup.com"&gt;SketchUp&lt;/a&gt; model, since the detailing on them is so, well, detailed. This was quite a heavy model, and slowed my previous graphics card to a crawl. Although these lifts are designed to simply move mobility-impaired passengers from one platform to another, a lot of thought has obviously gone into the design and detailing.
